Configuration
4) Enter your url, select currencies and additional services
Enter the url where the Payment gateway is to be hosted and specify the business activity. If the entity is an online store selling toys, enter, for instance "online store selling wooden toys and prams for kids". Try to be as specific as possible.
Then select the base currencies for your ThePay accounts. If you choose currencies other than CZK, we will credit your account with payments in the selected currencies – but only if the bank accounts to which we will pay out your ThePay balance are maintained in those currencies. If you select only CZK currency, this does not mean that your foreign customers will not be able to pay you in a foreign currency. Not only would the Payment gateway enable them to do so it would also start communicating with them in their language (if it is one of the world's major languages). The difference will be that the amount of their payment will then be converted at the relevant exchange rate published by the Czech National Bank.
Recurring payments
If you tick the option Recurring payments, this will allow a customer's payment card to be charged automatically for the service(s) provided. There are several types of recurring payments – such as payments of fixed amount made as scheduled (for instance, a fixed amount of CZK 300 charged per month). Your business model must meet the parameters for recurring payments and you, in relation to your customers, must meet several conditions to be able to use this service.
Pre-authorised payments
Pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of a specific amount placed on a customer's payment card. The amount is not debited from the customer's account, the amount is only held for a short time. Given the type of the service(s) provided and the terms agreed, the amount held is then either charged (in full or in part) or cancelled. Pre-auth is the best option for businesses offering accommodation services as it can be used to cover for incidental items such as mini-bar drinks, damage to property, etc.
